Week 3 TNF Results

The NFL probably wasn’t happy that the Giants vs 49ers went pretty much caulk considering the circumstances. The 49ers played pretty well and controlled the game after a slow start. The Giants couldn’t get anything going overall, so the game quickly became a 1 sided snooze fest.
Thought Results
You can play Matt Breida, but I wouldn’t feel good about it
Result: Spot on
I can’t imagine people who had the balls to play Breida were happy with their choice. He got you 8 in a HPPR format, but it was rough. The TD saved his fantasy value for sure. It probably didn’t feel good to play him.
Both QBs are a play tonight, Jones is just a bit scarier
Result: Right on Purdy, Wrong on Jones
Brock Purdy looked a bit out of it at the start of the game. He quickly figured it out and had another solid fantasy performance. Purdy is now clearly on the fantasy radar as a top 12 weekly play moving forward. Daniel Jones on the other hand was horrible. Giants fans gotta love the fact they paid him… right? It wasn’t all Jones' fault, the O-line looks like a total disaster at this point.
Fade Aiyuk, start Deebo
Result: Aiyuk was out so total fade, yes on Deebo
Feels good to make this right of a call. Aiyuk was still questionable when I wrote my TNF article. Being out, no one should have played him. Deebo was fantastic with Aiyuk sidelined, scoring around 22 points in HPPR. I am sure there are many Deebo fantasy owners saying this game justified their pick.
View every WR for the Giants as unworthy of playing for your squad
Result: Could not be more right
The leading Giants WR had 32 yards on 3 catches. That was Daruis Slayton. Jones only had 137 yards passing and no TDs. Yeah playing a Giants WR would have been a horrible decision.
Waller will be fine
Result: Wrong!
If I thought any Giants player would be ok it would have been Waller. Was I concerned, yeah, the 49ers have Fred Warner. Waller was unable to get anything going and was completely bottled up.
Kittle will finally get involved
Result: Right again!
I guess I need more games that feature the Giants and 49ers. Kittle finally made his fantasy owners proud throwing down 90 yards on 7 catches. The night could have been even bigger, but I think any TE owner will be happy with 13 points.
Have confidence in the 49ers defense even on Thursday Night
Result: Correct sir!
Would you have liked more? Of course, but 2 sacks, an INT, and less than 14 points? That’s solid from a defense. Depending on your league's format the 49ers will be one of the better defenses this week.
Can’t forget CMC
This was more of a comment, so not worried about the results.
Overall Results: Best TNF this season!
Being right once in a while is nice. If I am truly being honest, this was one of the easier games of the season to analyze. Even for Thursday Night Football the Giants are pretty bad and the 49ers are pretty damn good. I hope for more results like this moving forward for myself. High bar to reach though.
Fantasy Notes:
Dropping Daniel Jones is fine at this point
Until the offensive line plays better Jones isn’t worth a roster spot in fantasy. Jones is getting killed out there, but we can’t just blame the O-line. I haven’t been a fan of Jones, so for me these results so far have been more what I would have expected. He may have gotten paid like an elite QB, but he’s not one.
Don’t fall for the Deebo stat line
I know Deebo owners, you finally got a solid game! But don’t fall in love with it ok. Once Aiyuk gets back on the field Deebo will fall behind to a WR3 again in no time. Purdy just seems to trust Aiyuk more for better or worse.
All Giants WRs are droppable
Yet another offense that you can’t trust a single WR. Look, no joke Shaheed from the Saints is a much better pick than any WR for the Giants. If the player catching the ball for the Giants isn’t Waller, you don’t need them.
Ronnie Bell will be something… next season
The 49ers I think found a player in Ronnie Bell. He looks like he could fit right into the offense. The window for the 49ers living on the cheap will close fast. Ronnie Bell is young and cheap. As the year moves forward he will start to emerge I think as a guy you will want to watch for.
